President Barack Obama sneaked in and out of Afghanistan by the cover of night, his advance security team clearly too worried about the situation in Kabul to allow him to appear in public by day. And they would have been right, since shortly after Obama departed, Taliban hit a foreign workers’ guest house (which was [...]

I think it’s time for another Sluiter Nation Recruit. This week I bring you Brittany of Mommy Words. I don’t even know how I met Brittany, to be honest.  She just seems to be someone that was always in my twitter stream, always in my facebook newsfeed (well, her blog). Her cute little smile pops [...]

In the early months after we lost Hadley, during those foggy seconds of awakening, I would realize my life all over again. The air in the room would be sucked away and my feet would feel too heavy to lift out of bed. Each and every morning at 6 a.m. I would then go through [...]

Just got off face time with my boys (technology is awesome). They were being their goofy selves and it was nice to see their faces. It’s funny to think that it’s only been since yesterday morning but it feels like so much longer.
